BNG - Branson - Nashville -
Gatlinburg
April 28 - May 12, 2007 - (15 days)
Day 1
We leave the Maritimes, & overnight near the border of New
Hampshire and MA.
Day 2
Travelling across the New England States, we overnight in central
Pennsylvania, where our hotel has a delicious buffet dinner with an
extensive gift shop to browse through.
Day 3
We travel south along the Susquehanna River, cross the Mason Dixon line
to Maryland, travelling through the very scenic Shenandoah Valley of
Virginia between the Alleghany & Blue Ridge Mountains, and
overnight in Abingdon.
Day 4
We leave Virginia, enter the great state of Tennessee and go to the
little town of Gatlinburg near the Smoky Mountain National Park, for 2
nights. Enjoy the evening on your own in this downtown location within
walking of shops and restaurants.
Day 5
Mid morning we'll go to Dollywood Theme Park where you can enjoy
country, gospel, bluegrass and fifties-style musical shows, walk
through Craftsman's Valley, take a ride on the Dollywood Express train
& enjoy a buffet dinner at Aunt Grannies restaurant.
Day 6
We pass Knoxville arriving early afternoon in Nashville where we'll
spend the next 2 nights. This evening we'll enjoy a dinner theatre with
live musical entertainment.
Day 7
We'll do a city tour this morning seeing the Parthenon, have lunch at
the Wild Horse Saloon, visit the Ryman Auditorium and the Country Music
Hall of Fame. After dinner we have reserved seats for the world famous
Grand Ole Opry, and see well known legendary stars of yesterday and
newer entertainers performing on that famous stage.
Day 8
We travel through the Kentucky blue grass country, cross the
Mississippi River, travel through the scenic Missouri countryside to
the music capitol of Branson where we'll spend the next 3 nights at our
favorite hotel. Enjoy a delicious buffet dinner at a nearby restaurant.
This evening we'll see the Baldknobbers show, just across the street
from our hotel.
Day 9
Enjoy a leisurely morning, having lunch and time for shopping in the
downtown area, and seeing the new Dick Clark Showwith legendary
performers, this afternoon. We'll have dinner at a nearby restaurant,
and see the popular Shoji Tabuchi this evening at his magnificent
theatre with many special effects and spectacular lighting.
Day 10
We'll visit an outlet mall midmorning, have lunch. later we'll see
Daniel O'Donnell, the Irish entertainer and special guest Mary Duff in
the afternoon. After dinner we'll attend the new combined Moe
Bandy/Country Tonite show.
Day 11
We'll leave Branson, stop at the Bass Pro Store in Springfield, pass
St. Louis & the Arch, cross the Mississippi River, travel
through Illinois to Terre Haute, Indiana for the night.
Day 12
We leave Indiana, travel north, cross the Ohio River past the cities of
Cincinnati and Akron through the Amish area in Ohio to Ashtabula for
overnight.
Day 13
Travelling through Pennsylvania into New York state, we stay in near
the area of Albany, where our hotel is next to the Cracker Barrel
restaurant and Old Country Store.
Day 14
We stop at some of our favorite shopping venues on our way to
Waterville, Maine to spend our last night on the road with a farewell
dinner at our hotel.
Day 15
Homeward bound with memories of our BNG musical tour.
Included: All taxes,
transportation, accommodations, attractions as listed, baggage
handling, all breakfasts, 11 dinners, 1 lunch.
