Michigan Circle Magic and Victorian Macinac Island
October 05 - October 16, 2007 - (12 days)


Day 1
We leave the Maritimes, through Maine & stay near the New Hampshire/MA border.

Day 2
Travelling through the New England States, crossing the Hudson & Delawre rivers we'll stay in central Pennsylvania at our hotel with an extensive gift shop and buffet dinner.

Day 3
We journey through the countryside of Pennsylvania and New York State into Ohio to stay at a very unique hotel and have dinner in Archbold.

Day 4
We'll travel north to Michigan stopping at Battle Creek at Kellogg's Cereal City USA, see how cereal is made in the simulated Corn Flakes Production Line, walk back in time through the Historical Timeline & receive a box of cereal with your picture on it & visit with Tony The Tiger. Enjoy a Froot Loops Sundae or shop at the largest Kelloggs themed merchandise store. Later we'll travel past Grand Rapids to Traverse City for overnight.

Day 5
We'll visit the famous Cherry Republic, the world's largest retailer of Cherry Products. Composed of three buildings linked by stone paths through old English style Perennial Gardens with over 200 varieties of flowers. Visit the Cherry Bakery, or the Great Hall main store, sample cherry ice cream or one of the wines in the tasting room. We go northward to Mackinac City, & take a short ferry ride to Macinac Island. No automobiles on this unique laid back island of victorian architecture, where the movie "Somewhere In Time" was filmed and where we'll spend 2 nights.

Day 6
We'll enjoy a leisurely narrated carriage ride around the island, have a not-to-be forgotten lunch buffet at the famous national historic landmark, the Grand Hotel with its 600 foot long porch and spectacular lobby. You'll have time to spend downtown browsing through the various candy & fudge and souvenir shops and boutiques.

Day 7
We'll leave Mackinac Island this morning travelling south to the Bavarian town of Frankenmuth for 2 nights. We'll visit the nearby outlet mall before checking into our hotel next to Bronners 'The World's Largest Christmas Store'. We'll go out to Zehnders for their famous all-you-can-eat family style chicken dinner with all the fixins! Back at our hotel, take a stroll amid the hundreds of lights and outdoor displays at Bronners. Visit the nostalgic Austrian replica of the Silent Night Chapel just a short walk away.

Day 8
Enjoy some leisurely time this morning to visit Bronners for some last minute shopping. Later we'll enjoy a guided tour of the area & learn about the history of this fascinating place. Spend time downtown for lunch on-your-own and shopping at the many stores and boutiques that line the streets of this quaint little town. We'll shop at the outlet mall, have some leisure time back at our hotel in the afternoon, going out to dinner for a ham & roast beef dinner later on at Zehnders where 1500 people can be served at once.

Day 9
We travel south past Flint, pass Detroit, skirt the southern waters of Lake Erie, travel through Ohio to the area of Erie, Pennsylvania for overnight. We'll stay an a very special hotel and enjoy dinner and entertainment this evening.

Day 10
Our journey takes us through New York State, where our hotel is next door to a Cracker Barrel restaurant and Old Country Store near Albany.

Day 11
We'll travel through Massachusetts, New Hampshire to spend our last night on the road in Waterville, Maine where we'll enjoy a group farewell dinner this evening.

Day 12
Homeward bound with memories of our Michigan Adventure.
