Day 1
We leave the Maritimes heading south, stopping at the Woodstock Duty
Free Shop, lunch in Houlton & spend the night on the New
Hampshire/Massachusetts border.
Day 2
Travelling through the New England States, New York and New Jersey, we
cross the Delaware Memorial Bridge and overnight in Northern Maryland.
Day 3
Spring beckons as our travels take us through the Maryland and Virginia
countryside to spend the night in the area of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Day 4
We arrive in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in time to spend some time
shopping and have lunch at a local outlet mall. Then we'll check into
our ocean front hotel for the next 5 nights. Dinner is included at our
hotel this evening, then we'll see the entertaining "One: The Show" at
the Alabama Theatre. Enjoy the dynamic mix of vocals, comedy and
classic favorites, with stunning costumes, special effects &
dance for an evening of fun and laughter.
Day 5
After a leisurely breakfast at our hotel, we'll go to Broadway at the
Beach, a complex of shops, attractions and lunch, then back to the
hotel for free time. After dinner we'll enjoy Le Grande Cirque at the
Palace Theatre, seeing spellbinding incredible acts that are both
magical and electrifying.
Day 6
Enjoy a breakfast buffet before heading to a Saltwater Marsh Explorer
Cruise adventure, often encountering dolphins. It's the Grand Strand's
most popular ecology tour with a marine biologist on board. See a
demonstration of fishing and crabbing, go ashore on the beach of a
barrier island only accessible by boat.
Day 7
Enjoy a leisurely morning, later we'll go to a nearby mall for lunch.
Enjoy time on the beach before going to dinner at Benjamins Original
Calabash, then the Carolina Opry for an entertaining musical variety
and comedy show.
Day 8
Take this morning to relax, walking on the beach and doing as you wish.
Later we'll enjoy a leisurely drive north to Wilmington,NC to visit
Orton Plantation Gardens. Among the most beautiful on the eastern
seaboard, the gardens are adorned by statuary, footbridges and stands
of cypress. There is even a resident gator in the lagoon in front of
the manor house.
Day 9
Heading north we pass through the North Carolina and Virginia
countryside, past Richmond to the capitol area of Washington, D.C. for
the next 2 nights.
Day 10
This morning we'll enjoy a guided city tour, seeing Arlington Cemetery,
The White House, Capitol Building, Lincoln Memorial and more! After
lunch we'll board a cruise boat seeing the Monuments from the Potomoc
River, surrounded by fragrant cherry blossoms.
Day 11
Travelling north, we pass New Jersey to overnight in the Albany, NY.
area where our hotel is next to the Cracker Barrel restaurant.
Day 12
We go through the New England States, making stops at some of our
favorite venues, on our way to our last night on the road in
Waterville, Me.
Day 13
Homeward bound with memories of our sand, sun & cherry Blossom
tour.
Included: All taxes,
accommodations, transportation, baggage handling, attractions as
listed, all breakfasts and 10 dinners.
