EMERALD PRINCESS - PRINCESS CRUISE LINES

Launched in 2007, Emerald Princess is one of the largest ships in the Princess fleet with over 900 balcony staterooms and 19 decks. It has a piazza style atrium with a elaborate theatre, bustling casinos, the movie under the stars outdoor theatre, cozy bars, and relaxing lounges.


Day 1. We leave the Maritimes, travel through Maine and New Hampshire to overnight near the NH/Massachusetts border.

Day 2. Travelling through Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Delaware to spend the night in NORTH EAST, MARYLAND.

Day 3. Our journey takes us south through Maryland and Virginia to overnight in LUMBERTON, NORTH CAROLINA.

Day 4. We travel through North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, stop at the Florida Welcome Center for some free samples of cold tangy orange or grapefruit juice and spend the night in ST. AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA.

Day 5. We travel past Daytona Beach on our way to FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA where out hotel is near the Cruise Terminal.

Day. 6. We’ll board the Emerald Princess, our floating hotel for ten nights. When you arrive in your cabin, you will soon meet the steward or stewardess that will be taking care of your room for your stay onboard. Be sure to be on deck when the ship leaves the port and gets ready to sail on the Atlantic Ocean. Dinner this evening will probably be a casual affair as you get familiar with the Dining Room Staff and your surroundings in 19 deck dynamic ship.

Day 7. We’ll arrive at Princess Cays on the tiny island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. This island retreat is reserved just for guests of Princess Cruise Lines. A beautiful picture with turquoise waters, take a glass bottom boat adventure, enjoy the sandy beach or do some shopping at the Tropical Treasure and Bahama Treasure Boutiques. Enjoy an authentic Bahamian barbecue, while listening to soft island music. We’ll leave the Island at 4:00 pm, and board the ship in time for dinner.

Day 8. Enjoy a day at sea with time to explore this magnificent vessel. This is a good time to check out for any shore excursions you may wish to take at the various ports.

Day 9. We’ll arrive this morning at St. Thomas is the US Virgin Islands. You may enjoy some water sports, tour the Skyline Drive on the ridge of mountains that overlook the city of Charlotte Amalie and the harbour. Shop at the duty free stores or check out some local handicrafts. Take the Paradise Point Tramway for an excellent observation point. We’ll leave this port at 5:00 pm.

Day 10. The arrival time for St. Kitts, St. Kitts and Nevis is 7:00 this morning. This Caribbean Island is covered by a lush tropical forest. St. Kitts is part of a tiny two-island state with Nevis, with the law that no building be taller than the Palm trees. The massive fortress of Brimstone Hill rises 800 feet above sea level and is made of black volcanic stone. Basseterre, with its British background is seen at the Circus, a roundabout fashioned after London’s Piccadilly and Berkeley Memorial Clock, which is supposedly a replica of Big Ben. The Frigate Bay Peninsula has everything from Casinos, Helicopter rides, rainforest tours and boat trips to Nevis. Our cruise ship leaves at 4pm.

Day 11. We arrive in St. Lucia at 8:00 AM. This island with its dramatic coastlines with thriving coral reefs, and mountainous rain forests offer many leisure opportunities. Visit Sulfur Springs, the world’s only drive-in volcanic crater, with hot bubbling holes of sulphuric waters is sheltered by the Pitons, twin peaks rising almost 2500 feet. Visit the Diamond Botanical Gardens and Falls, part of the Soufriere Estate. Visit the restored working plantation of the Morne Coubaril Estate and visit the workers village with many product demonstrations. Our ship leaves at 6:00 pm.

Day 12. Our next stop is Barbados where we’ll arrive at 7:00 am. This island with British appeal has great shopping values. Visit Harrison’s Cave with colossal stalactites and emerald green pools. Enjoy Turtle Bay with many water attractions or visit the Andromeda Gardens and see rare Tropical ferns anc Cacti, or visit the Orchid Farm. Our ship will be leaving at 4:00 pm.

Day 13. Antigua and Barbuda are on the agenda for today. We arrive to this port that thrives with British Naval history. Visit Shirley Heights, the observation post, Lord Admiral Nelson’s Dockyard, and restored village with Georgian style buildings, heritage museum and gift shops and quaint boutiques. Visit the Great Bird National Park, a bird sanctuary. Visit one of the beaches, then our ship will leave at 5:00 pm.

Day 14. Enjoy this day at sea. Relax on deck, visit the library and today we’ll have a ‘group picture’ taken, probably at 5:00 before dinner.

Day 15. Our last ‘day at sea’. Time to take advantages of some of the sales at the ships boutiques, visit the casino and enjoy time on deck.

Day 16. We arrive in Fort Lauderdale this morning, board our coach and travel north to Jacksonville where we‘ll spend the night.

Day 17. We travel north through Georgia, and South Carolina to overnight near Charlotte, North Carolina

Day 18. Our journey takes us from North Carolina to Virginia, where we’ll travel through the Shenandoah Valley between the Blue Ridge and Alleghany mountain ranges, to Martinsburg, West Virginia to spend the night.

Day 19. We travel through Maryland and West Virginia, into Pennsylvania and on to the Albany area for the night.

Day 20. Our journey today takes us through Massachusetts, New Hampshire to overnight in Waterville for our last night on the road. We’ll enjoy a farewell group dinner this evening.

Day 21. Home with memories of our Caribbean Cruise.

ATLANTA, GEORGIA’S ‘GONE WITH THE WIND’ MANSIONS

FEBRUARY 16 – 25, 2012

Day 1. We leave the Maritimes behind, cross the border and overnight in Massachusetts.

Day 2. Travelling through Conn., NJ and Delaware and overnight in central Maryland.

Day 3. The weather warms up as we drive through VA and overnight in Charlotte, NC.

Day 4. We travel into South Carolina, and southwest into Georgia. We’ll stop in Cleveland at Babyland General, home of the Cabbage Patch Kids. We’ll enjoy the new facility, and watch a nurse prepare a ripe cabbage plant for ‘delivery’. Then adoption papers are filled out and the new baby gets a name. On display are some of the original babies, now 30 years old. We’ll visit the Bavarian town of Helen on the Chatahoochie River in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Enjoy strolling downtown amid the shops that sell everything from candles to cuckoo clocks, in this recreated alpine village complete with cobblestone alleys and old- world towers. Enjoy some ‘home’ cookin’ as we dine at a local restaurant, Then we’ll check into our hotel in Atlanta, our home for 3 nights.

Day 5. Sleep in, and mid-morning, then we’ll take a tour of CNN Studios. Our tour begins with a ride on the world’s largest free-standing escalator before transporting you inside a 50- foot globe. You’ll see some of the greatest moments in history. We’ll tour the Control Room Theatre, Special Effects studio, and interactive news desk section. Maybe you’ll see your favorite newscaster, or get something from the ‘News Store’. You’ll have time for shopping and lunch before going to the ‘new’ World of Coca-Cola where you can sample over 60 different beverages in the beverage lounge. Enjoy a first hand look at a fully functioning bottling line and take home a free 8 oz bottle of Coca-Cola. Give the friendly 7 foot tall Coca Cola Polar Bear a hug, and see the world’s largest collection of Coca Cola memorabilia. Enjoy films about the making of Coca Cola and displays of past advertisers and artists of Coca-Cola.

Day 6. Another relaxing morning before we take a short drive to Jonesboro, the town and its people that was the inspiration for Margaret Mitchell’s famous book “Gone With The Wind”. We’ll stop at the ‘Gone With The Wind’ museum and see the huge Mural of Vivian Leigh and Clark Gable as Scarlett and Rhett. Enjoy the artifacts and take home a souvenir from the Gift Shop. A local guide will show entertain us with stories of the area as well as the Civil War and Sherman’s march as well as the mansion that was thought to be Tara. We’ll see Stately Oaks Mansion and enjoy dinner, served by costumed staff, at one of the mansions in the area.

Day 7. We travel northeast through SC, into Virginia and through the Shenandoah Valley, between the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains. to Natural Bridge tonight.

Day 8. Our journey takes us through Pennsylvania into NJ and overnight in Elizabeth.

Day 9. Our travels take us through the states of NY, Conn. MA to Waterville, Maine.

Day 10. Homeward bound with memories of our Atlanta and Gone With the Wind tour.

Day 3. Our travels take us through South Carolina and Georgia and arrive in Orlando, where we’ll spend 6 nights. Our hotel has a free scheduled shuttle to Universal Studios, Sea World, Lake Buena Vista Outlet Mall and Epcot in Disney World, where transportation is available to all the rest of the Disney Parks. Enjoy a free hot breakfast every morning. All rooms have a fridge and microwave. Numerous shops and restaurants are within walking distance, and only 2.5 miles from Walt Disney World Resort. Day 1. We leave the Maritimes behind, stop at the Duty Free store, travel through Maine and spend our first night near the New Hampshire/Massachusetts border.

Day 2. Travelling through the New England States, we cross the Delaware Memorial Bridge, overnight in central Maryland, with dinner at a nearby restaurant.

Day 3. We travel south to Virginia, and check into our hotel in North Carolina. If weather co-operates, we’ll take the country side tour through Maryland and Delaware across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to Virginia, south to North Carolina.

Day 4. We travel southward to our oceanfront Myrtle Beach hotel for six nights. Enjoy your own balcony overlooking the sparkling sandy beach with waves gently rolling in from the ocean. Dinner included at the restaurant next door.

Day 5. After a hot breakfast buffet (included each morning), we have a tour of the Low Country, with history on Myrtle Beach area. We’ll visit Barefoot Landing, an variety of shops overlooking a lake, filled with wildlife, even alligators. Enjoy a delicious buffet at the Great American Steak and Buffet. At the Palace Theatre ”Hooray for Hollywood” takes you through film and music for the last 50 years with some of the stars like Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, music from The Titanic,Saturday Night Fever and Disney.

Day 6. Enjoy today ‘on your own’ to relax and enjoy the beach.

Day 7. Enjoy a relaxing morning, then we’ll visit an outlet mall for some shopping. Later we’ll enjoy the new Pirates Voyage Dinner Show owned by Dolly Parton with Acrobats, live music, fun and a tasty feast. Experience the Pirates Lair and Crows Nest.

Day 8. This morning, we’ll take a short drive to Georgetown, a former shipping port for rice and indigo. and a tour of the 1740’s Hopsewee Plantation, a 1740’s Rice Plantation Home built from Black Cypress overlooking the Santee River. While here we’ll have an elegant Southern Tea Luncheon at the Plantation home. Dinner is included at Original Benjamin’s Calabash Buffet. We attend Dino’s TV Variety show. In the Las Vegas style showroom our tribute ’Dean Martin’ star welcomes tribute guests such as Marilyn Monroe, Phyllis Diller, you never know who might show up!!

Day 9. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon. We’ll have dinner at a favorite restaurant, Later we’ll see “One The Show” at the Alabama Theatre. Comedian Ricky will delight you, and enjoy a high energy show that blends humor with favorite music, past and present.

Day 10. We journey through North Carolina to Northern Virginia for 2 nights.

Day 11. We’ll arrive in Washington, DC this morning, pick up a local guide for a tour. We’ll see the White House, Capitol Building, Lincoln, Jefferson and Washington monuments, Vietnam Memorial and many famous landmarks, including the Canadian Embassy. If nature co-operates we should see hundreds of Cherry Blossom trees in Bloom. You’ll have time on your own to explore some of the Smithsonian Institute.

Day 12. We travel through the New England states and overnight in Connecticut.

Day 13. On our way to Waterville, Maine we’ll stop at our favorite shopping venues. This evening enjoy a group farewell Easter Dinner.

Day 14. Homeward bound with memories of our sand and sun tour to Myrtle Beach.

THUNDER OVER LOUISVILLE FIREWORKS, AIRSHOW AND KENTUCKY DERBY MUSEUM

APRIL 17 – 26, 2012

Day 1. We leave the Maritimes, cross the border and overnight in Massachusetts.

Day 2. We travel through the New England States, spend the night at our favorite hotel in Central Pennsylvania, enjoy a dinner buffet and browse through the gift shop.

Day 3. Travelling across Pennsylvania, by Akron, Ohio to Columbus for overnight.

Day 4. Early afternoon, we’ll arrive in Louisville, check into our hotel for 2 nights. The Galt House overlooks the Ohio River and best place to see Thunder. Restaurants are within walking distance and it’s exciting watching them get ready for Thunder.

Day 5. Enjoy a lavish breakfast buffet with dinner on your own, with many eating establishments within walking distance, We have a private viewing room overlooking the Ohio River, with complimentary snacks and soft drinks. This event kicks off two weeks before the Kentucky Derby and is one of the Top 100 Events in North America.
The airshow features more than 60 civilian and military aircraft with continuous fly-bys and performances from 3:00pm to 9:30 pm. Enjoy aerobatics teams, daring sky-diving groups and breathtaking stunts. Two Gigantic American Flags fly over the crowd, flown in by helicopters to the music of the Star Spangled Banner. Watch the amazing technology of the United States Air Force, Navy, Amy and Marine corps. Civilian performer Elgin Wells will perform just before the Blast off of the Thunder Fireworks. His modified aircraft Starjammer is a dazzling display of programmed lights to music.
And the Thunder Fireworks begins! Watch the largest annual pyrotechnics in North America. To assemble the show eight tractor trailer loads arrive with 60 tons of fireworks shells. 250 tons of launching tubes are used on 1800 feet of barges. 700 miles of wire cable connect 20 firing boards are tied to the command post for synchronization to music. Enjoy 28 minutes of Amazing Thunder Fireworks that comes from six barges on the Ohio River and be amazed at the waterfall effect off the bridges.

Day 6. Enjoy a buffet breakfast, then we’ll visit Churchill Downs and Kentucky Derby Museum. We’ll stop at the Louisville Slugger Baseball Bat Museum, then we’re off to Lexington and area tour of the Horse Farms and then check into our hotel.

Day 7. We leave Kentucky, travel into West Virginia, past Charleston, through the mountains and north to Maryland and on to Cumberland, Maryland for the night.

Day 8. Driving through Pa, we overnight in Albany next door to Cracker Barrel.

Day 9. We travel through the New England states to Waterville, Maine tonight.

Day 10. Homeward bound with memories of ‘Thunder Over Louisville’

MAY 6 – 19, 2012

Day 1. We leave the Maritimes, travel through Maine, overnight in Massachusetts.

Day 2. Travelling through the New England States, we then overnight in central Pennsylvania where we'll enjoy a buffet dinner and the gift shop.

Day 3. We journey south, through Pennsylvania, cross the Mason-Dixon Line to Maryland, heading west through the mountains, one of the most scenic drives in the country, past Cumberland into West Virginia and south to Charleston for the night.

Day 4. We travel into the ‘bluegrass state of Kentucky’, past Lexington, famous for the numerous horse farms, and miles of fences, pass Bardstown, site of My Old Kentucky Home, through the countryside and on to Sikeston, Mo. Tonight we'll have tasty dinner and lots of fun at the “Home of the Throwed Rolls” restaurant.

Day 5. We travel south into Arkansas, along the Mississippi River and arrive in Memphis, Tennessee mid morning. We'll visit Graceland, former home of Elvis Presley, which has become a National Historic Landmark. We'll have a tour of Elvis' home, shop, have lunch, then we’re off to Nashville, Tennessee for 3 nights.

Day 6. A local guide will join us for a city tour, to see the homes of the stars, Country Music Hall of Fame, The Capitol, replica of the Parthenon, Ryman Auditorium, Wild Horse Saloon, Tootsies Orchid Lounge, the Ernest Tubb Record Store and More! This evening we'll enjoy a delicious buffet and live musical entertainment at the Nashville Nightlife Dinner Theatre.

Day 7. Enjoy a leisurely morning, this afternoon, we’ll tour the Fontanel Mansion former home of Barbara Mandrell,shop at the Stone House and enjoy a southern style dinner . This evening we have reserved seats at the world famous Grand Ole Opry.

Day 8. We travel across Tennessee to spend three nights ‘prettiest town in the Smokies’ - Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance of our hotel, and enjoy this evening to explore on your own.

Day 9. Mid morning we'll go to Dollywood Theme Park, where you can enjoy country, bluegrass, gospel and the fifties musical shows, as well as activities with the Festival of Nations. Take a ride on the Dollywood Express, take a walk through Craftsmans Valley. This evening we'll enjoy a show in Pigeon Forge.

Day 10. Enjoy today to ‘do as you wish’, maybe take a ride ‘up the mountain’ on Over Gatlinburg, the Aerial Tram or visit the Aquarium of the Smokies.

Day 11. We leave Tennessee, travel through the beautiful Shenandoah Valley between the Blue Ridge and Alleghany Mountains to Winchester, Virginia tonight.

Day 12. We travel into Pennsylvania, stopping at Hershey, on our way to the area of Albany, New York for the night, our hotel is next to a Cracker Barrel restaurant.

Day 13. We'll do some shopping at our favorite venues on our way to Waterville, Maine for the night where we'll have our ‘farewell’ group dinner.

Day 14. Homeward bound with memories of our musical tour to Tennessee.

AMISH BUGGYS AND STEAM TRAINS

MAY 31 – JUNE 7, 2012

Day 1. We leave the Maritimes, cross the border and overnight in Massachusetts.

Day 2. We travel through the New England States to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, heart of the Amish country, our home for 3 nights.

Day 3. Enjoy a guided tour of the Amish countryside and have a noon meal as guests of an Amish family, then we’re off to the historic East Strasburg Train Station and board a restored train car for a ride through the Amish Countryside. Enjoy the gift shop with Toys, collectibles and supplies for Model Train Collectors, and later a lavish buffet at a local restaurant. Tonight we’ll enjoy Jonah, the newest show at the Sight and Sound Theatre with amazing backdrops and colourful settings and special effects.

Day 4. Midmorning we’ll take a short drive to Hershey, stopping at Chocolate World for shopping and lunch. While there you can take a simulated ride showing the making of chocolate. We’ll sit down for a delicious family style dinner, then go to the American Music Theatre to see Country Music Star Legend “George Jones”.

Day 5. We leave this morning for New Hope a unique little town on the Delaware River. We’ll stop at Herr’s Factory for a very entertaining Snack Tour before we arrive at the refurbished Victorian New Hope Station, and board one of the vintage rail cars of the New Hope and Ivy Railroad excursion. Enjoy a ride through the rolling hills and valleys of Bucks County. We’ll spend time in the town of New Hope and overnight nearby.

Day 6. We travel north on a scenic drive through the Catskill Mountains to Albany, where our hotel is next to the Cracker Barrel Restaurant and Old Country Store.

JUNE 23 - 30, 2012

Day 1. We leave New Brunswick, cross the Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island where we overnight in Cavendish, and enjoy a delicious dinner this evening.

Day 2. Our adventure begins we travel to Souris and ferry to Cap-aux-Meules, one of the Magdalen Islands, a journey about 5 hours. Enjoy dinner on the ferry. We'll arrive on the Island and stay at the Chateau Madelinot, near the town of Fatima of 2700 inhabitants, with its ocean view and friendly atmosphere for two nights.

Day 3. The Archipelago of the Iles de la Madeleine is in the middle of the St. Lawrence River about 215 km from the Gaspe Peninsula, 105 km from Prince Edward Island, 95 km from Cape Breton. The island chain composed of about a dozen islands, six that are connected with sand dunes, take the shape of a fishhook for a distance of 65 km. Today a local guide will join us for a tour of this place of sand dunes, golden beaches and red red crumbly rocky steep slopes. You'll marvel at the randomly scattered bright colored houses that show Acadian and French origin of the people. You’ll learn what a Baraque barn is and see fishing villages. Then to hotel for dinner.

Day 4. You'll learn more of the island today, have time to shop for souvenirs in Fatima, and see 2 more of the villages. At Laverniere we’ll see one of the largest wooden churches still existing in North America and Site d'Autrefois (Yesterday’s Typical Site). We'll see the Etang-du-Nord lighthouse and visit the interpretation center La Barachois. We enjoy dinner at our hotel, than we'll have a short ride to the cruise/ferry MVCTMA Vanancier. This 12000 ton vessel is 126 meters long, has 220 cabins, 8 decks, fitness room, reading room, games room, observation deck, entertainment and a naturalist guide on board. There is a Convenience Store, information area and movie theatre as well. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are served in the cafeteria, while dinner is served in the dining room, with a different menu every night. While on the ship, all meals are included. Early evening we leave the islands to begin our relaxing cruise on St. Lawrence River.

Day 5. We'll cruise the Gaspe Coast with a stopover in Chandler. Enjoy a local tour, walk or use the free shuttle to the nearby mall. While in the Gaspe area, we get a close-up view from the ship of Bonaventure Island and the huge rock at Perce. Enjoy resting on a lounge on one of the open decks or relax inside.

Day 6. We continue on the St. Lawrence River, watch for whales around Tadoussac this morning, and stop in Quebec City where the ship docks in Lower Town at the foot of Dufferin Terrace. You can visit Chateau Frontenac or browse through the shops in Artists Alley in Old Quebec, all within walking distance.

Day 7. Continuing along the St. Lawrence, we arrive in Montreal this morning after breakfast. After disembarking, we continue on Drummondville for shopping and lunch on our way to Riviere du Loup for overnight, with dinner at our hotel this evening.

Day 8. Homeward bound with memories of our cruise/island adventure.

JOURNEY TO CHURCHILL, MANITOBA
IN SEARCH OF WHALES AND POLAR BEARS

JULY 22 - AUGUST 13, 2012

Day 1. We begin our great adventure as we leave the Maritimes, stop at the Woodstock Duty Free store, travel through Maine and overnight near the NH/Massachusetts border.

Day 2. We stay at one of our favorite hotels in central Pennsylvania and enjoy an Amish-style dinner buffet with time to browse through the extensive gift shop on site.

Day 3. Traveling past Cleveland and Toledo, our journey takes us to Western Ohio, where we stay at one of our favorite hotels with a delicious dinner buffet ‘in the barn’.

Day 4. Breakfast under the ‘oak tree’ this morning, then we travel into Indiana, go south of Lake Michigan and Chicago, Illinois, north into Wisconsin, America’s dairy land, with its numerous farms, past Madison and to the community of Tomah for overnight.

Day 5. We cross the Mississippi River to Minnesota, through rolling hills, and flowing rivers, the state of Paul Bunyan and Tall Trees, pass the twin cities of Minneapolis/St.Paul to our hotel for the night in the Midwest in Fargo, North Dakota.

Day 6. Our journey takes us takes us north along the Red River Valley to Winnipeg, where we’ll prepare for our Northern Adventure.

Day 7. We leave Winnipeg this morning traveling through Manitoba’s central plains, past Portage La Prairie. The Yellowhead Highway takes us to Minnedosa before we turn north to Wasagaming and the south entrance to Riding Mountain National Park, through hardwood forests, prairies, lakes and streams. We continue north through Dauphin to Swan River, our overnight stop. Before going to the hotel, we visit the Swan Valley Museum, reflecting life in Manitoba’s pioneer era through artifacts and restored buildings.

Day 8. We continue our journey north to the Pas for a visit to the Repap Manitoba Pulp Mill. We‘ll have lunch at The Pas and a sightseeing tour including the unique Christ Church where you will see hand hewn pews and panels on the wall with the Lord‘s Prayer in the Cree languages. Our afternoon journey finds us stopping at beautiful Pisew Falls, the highest waterfall in Manitoba that is accessible by road. We travel northward and arrive at the mining town of Thompson late afternoon and stay here for the night.

Day 9 We’ll enjoy a tour of Thompson this morning, have lunch and then board the Via Rail Train. We make a short stop in Gillam, then settle in for the night as we travel on the scenic coach class through the forest and across the permanently frozen tundra.

Day 10. After an included breakfast on board the train, we arrive at 7:00am in morning in Churchill and get our first glimpse of the beautiful Hudson Bay, as our local coach and guide meet us at the train station to begin a comprehensive tour of the entire area. We’ll see Canada’s most northerly deep sea port, tour the massive grain elevator, and the Churchill Complex which houses a modern hospital, high school, hockey arena, Curling Rink and more. We’ll see Miss Piggy (A downed Lamb airplane, the Ithaca (A grounded nickel ore carrier), the Eskimo Museum. We’ll visit the Cape Merry National Historic site and the Polar Bear Jail. We’ll visit the Parks Interpretive centre where a slide and ‘live theatre’ show is scheduled as well. Later we’ll check into our hotel for 2 nights. (If time permits there is an optional helicopter tour for those who are interested.

Day 11. We are transported by bus to the Tundra Buggy launch area for a half day tour. These huge 8 wheel drive vehicles will go anywhere; Watch for a wandering Polar Bear, Caribou, birds and other wildlife. In earlier years at this time, we saw 4 polar bear and caribou. In the afternoon we visit Parks Canada, Historic Fort Prince of Wales and the Eskimo Museum, on of the finest museums in the north. We learn from local artists who share their life experiences, who will explain the meaning of their unique arts and crafts during the cultural display show. This evening we’ll enjoy and Arctic Char dinner, a northern delicacy. If conditions are right , we can see the fantastic Northern lights that fill the sky.

Day 12. We spend our 3rd full day in Churchill, going to the dock to get up close and personal with Beluga Whales as we take a cruise on the Hudson Bay River. No visit to Churchill would be complete without stopping at Gypsy’s Bakery and deli, a place locals and tourists both enjoy. The Northern Store has everything from eggs to clothing and housewares. You can find unique aboriginal art at the Wapusk General Store and the Arctic Trading Company. At 6:00 pm we board the Via Rail train for overnight.

Day 13 We’ll have breakfast on the train this morning, arrive in Gillam for a short stop at 7:30AM, arrive back in Thompson at 1:00pm, explore the town and spend the night.

Day 14. We enjoy the northern Manitoba scenery, then arrive back in Winnipeg where we’ll spend three nights.

Day 15. Enjoy a ‘day on your own’ to do as you wish. You might enjoy stopping at the Forks, shopping or seeing various attractions

Day 16. This morning we’ll enjoy a city tour seeing Fort Garry Park, The Ross House, Centennial Center, Assinboine Park, St. Boniface Cathedral, Art Gallery, Royal Canadian Mint, Legislature Buildings, and Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature, in particular the Arctic-sub Arctic Gallery, which explores facets of the Inuit culture and information of the wildlife and vegetation of the Arctic zone.

Day 17. We leave Manitoba this morning, stop in Bemidji for a photo with the legendary lumberjack Paul Bunyan and Babe his Blue Ox. Then we’ll be on our way to Grand Rapids for the night. Before checking into our hotel, we’ll visit the Judy Garland Museum.

Day 18. We travel to Duluth on Lake Superior, through the countryside into Northern Wisconsin past Ironwood, Michigan to Escabana for the night.

Day 19. We travel in Upper Michigan, famous for there tasty Pastie pies, cross the mighty Mackinac Bridge to the Bavarian town of Frankenmuth. We’ll enjoy one of their famous family style chicken dinners and spend some time at Bronners, the world’s largest Christmas Tree store.

Day 20. We journey past Detroit, Toledo and Cleveland to Ashtabula area of Ohio.

Day 21. We travel along Lake Erie, through Pennsylvania, into New York state to overnight near the Albany area.

Day 22. Traveling through Massachusetts, we’ll make a few stops on our way to Waterville, Maine where we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner this evening.

Day 23. Homeward bound with pleasant memories of our adventure to Churchill to see the Polar Bears and Beluga Whales.

Day 9. We’ll board a local coach pass over the new bridge at Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, on our way to the ‘newest attraction’ at Grand Canyon West. We’ll arrive at the Hualapi Indian Reservation and enjoy a ‘cowboy lunch’. We’ll visit the ‘SkyWalk’ made of 1 million pounds of steel, the 2.8” thick overlook of glass stretches 70 feet over the Grand Canyon and Colorado River 4000 feet below. We’ll be back in Las Vegas at 6:00pm.

Day 10. Traveling north past St. George, we’ll stop at the Big Screen Theatre to see “Zion-Canyon of the Gods”. Then we’ll drive through Sandstone canyons, rocky deserts, and forested plateaus and amazing mountain splendor in Zion National Park. A short drive will bring us to Kanab, our home for 4 nights, known as Little Hollywood.

Day 11. Today we’ll travel to Lake Powell for a spectacular scenic cruise amid the multi-coloured mazes of sandstone formations that were created when the dammed up waters of the Colorado River flooded Glen Canyon. This evening we’ll have dinner on a ‘movie set’.

Day 12. We’ll stop at a local popular shopping area with time for lunch then drive amid thousands of delicately carved spires and hoodoos in the colourful Bryce Canyon.

Day 13. Today we’ll visit the Grand Canyon National Park at the North Rim, and you will be in awe as you explore this spectacular scene of heart-stopping majesty.

Day 14. This morning we’ll pass Vermillion Cliffs and Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument into Arizona to Monument Valley, where a Navajo guide will show us where many western movies have been filmed. We’ll go to Moab, Utah for the next 2 nights.

Day 15. Enjoy a guided tour of Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. Later enjoy dinner and awe-inspiring sound and light cruise on the Green River.

Our downtown hotel with views of Lake Michigan, the Weathervane Terrace Inn and Suites, unique with native timber, stonework and turrets is our home for 3 nights.

Day 5. Enjoy a leisurely morning, lunch on your own, the a local guide for join us for an area tour. First and foremost on our agenda are the homes designed by Earl Young;this amazing architect, who also designed our hotel. Described as ‘storybook whimsy’, be delighted at these Mushroom Houses, built of stone and glacial boulders, often called Elf Cottages or Hobbit Houses. Nestled into hillsides, chimneys with frosted stone caps,the 30 houses in Charlevoix built by Earl Young are considered works of art.
Our next stop is Historic Castle Farms. Magnificent stone towers, English gardens and cobblestone courtyards, the Hedge Maze and Tower Bridge that leads to a view of the Garden Railroad with eight trains running on three levels. At the magnificent portico, receive a royal greeting by the castle staff of this French Renaissance style Castle, and prepare for the Grand tour. After the tour, with time on your own to roam around and take pictures, We’ll enjoy ‘dinner in the castle’, a very memorable occasion for sure. Back to our hotel, with an evening free to enjoy the downtown area at your leisure.

Day 6. This morning we’ll travel north, stop to view the Cross In the Woods, and have lunch at Legs Inn, a very unique restaurant in beautiful surroundings. Later we’ll board the Keweenaw Star for a two hour sightseeing cruise on Round Lake, Lake Charlevoix or Lake Michigan. We’ll enjoy dinner this evening at a local restaurant.

Day 7. This morning we travel north, cross the Mighty Mackinac Bridge to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and cross the border to Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. Our journey takes us to Sudbury. Time Permitting we’ll visit Science North Imax Theatre.

Day 8. We travel past North Bay to the capitol city of Ottawa. Before checking into our hotel, we’ll enjoy a drive through the city, seeing the Parliament Buildings, Rideau Canal and other historic sites. Enjoy this evening to explore ‘on your own’

Day 1. We leave the Maritimes admiring the colorful fall foliage on our way to Massachusetts for our first night on the road.

Day 2. Travelling through the New England states, we travel though Delaware and overnight in Maryland.

Day 3. We arrive in Virginia Beach and check into our oceanfront rooms for 3 nights. We’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at the Virginia Beach Convention Centre. This evening enjoy a live musical tribute show to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons; The Story of the Jersey Boys. Enjoy wonderful versions of ‘Sherry’. ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’, ‘Walk Like a Man’, ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You’, ‘Let’s Hang On’ and many more of their many hits.

Day 4. Enjoy a leisurely morning to walk the beach, do some shopping ,then get ready for our exciting evening. Approximately 6:00 pm we arrive at the Cavalier Hotel, where many of the Big Bands played in this Oceanfront Ballroom where we’ll have a candlelight Seafood Buffet. After dinner the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra takes the stage for a special tribute to the music of Frank Sinatra, who played at the Cavalier Ballroom many years ago, sang ‘Thanks For the Memories, theme song for the night. Enjoy as the tribute artist performs such songs as ‘Come Fly With Me’, ‘The Lady is a Tramp’,’ Mack the Knife’,‘I’ve Got You Under My Skin’, ‘My Way’ and more past favorites.

Day 5. Enjoy another leisurely morning, lunch on your own, then mid-afternoon we’ll visit the Virginia Beach Military Aviation Museum. The hangers are filled with more than 65 military aircraft from WW1 and WWll. Then it’s outside to watch ‘Swingtime in the Skies’ Air Show. Tribute celebrities Bob Hope and the Andrews Sisters join the festivities along with the Glen Miller AAF Band. Narrations and flyovers with Bi-Planes and Tri-Planes will entertain us followed by an elaborate Southern Style Cookout in the Hanger. We’ll depart for the Sandler Center Performance Hall for the Neptune USO Show. With Bob Hope as the MC enjoy a nostalgic ‘Thanks for the Memories’ evening with The harmony of the Andrews Sisters and the tribute to The Glenn Miller Band with such tunes as the ‘Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy’, ‘In the Mood’, ‘Moonlight Serenade’ and popular tunes you’re sure to remember.

Day 6. We’ll leave Virginia Beach this morning and cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to Maryland, Delaware with an overnight in New Jersey.

Day 7. Travelling through the New England States, we’ll make our way to Waterville, Maine for our farewell dinner.

Day 1. We leave the Maritimes and spend our first night on the road in Massachusetts.

Day 2.Overnight will be at a favourite hotel in Pennsylvania with gift shop and buffet.

Day 3. We travel west though Pennsylvania into Ohio, spend the night in Columbus.

Day 4. Our journey takes us through Indiana, Illinois near past the 630 ft high Archway Monument in St. Louis, Missouri and overnight in the area.

Day 5. We'll travel along the trail of Route 66, into the Ozark Mountains and arrive at lunch time in Branson for two nights. We'll visit the Branson Mall, check into our hotel, enjoy dinner with live entertainment, then an evening show (to be announced later) complete Branson 2012 schedule not ready at this time.

Day 6. Enjoy a leisurely morning, afternoon and evening shows (to be determined later) as well as an enjoyable dinner in between.

Day 7. We leave Branson, travel south into Arkansas through the Ozark Mountains, cross the Mississippi River and overnight in Greenville, Miss.

Day 8. We enter Louisiana travelling south cross Lake Ponchartrain, arriving mid afternoon in the memorable and exciting city of New Orleans for the next 3 nights.

Day 9. This morning we'll enjoy a city tour, and see Mardi Gras World, where the floats are made, see the French Quarter, Bourbon Street and Jackson Square, and above ground cemeteries. Our guide will show us how the city is rebuilding after the devastation of Katrina, and sharing some of the more positive developments. After lunch we’ll enjoy a boat tour through the mysterious swamps to see egrets and alligators in the murky waters amid gnarled cypress trees.

Day 10., Enjoy today ‘on your own, ride the famous St. Charles Streetcar, ride the trolley to the Market in the French Quarter. Many restaurants, shopping and attractions within walking distance, including the Casino and Bourbon Street.

Day 11. We travel north through the Mississippi Delta into Alabama, past Tuscaloosa and Birmingham to the home of the group Alabama in Fort Payne for the night.

Day 12. As we leave Alabama,we travel a short distance in Georgia to Tennessee, past Chattanooga, and a scenic drive to Knoxville then into Virginia. Our journey takes us through the beautiful Shenandoah Valley between the Blue Ridge and Alleghany Mountains to Roanoke for overnight.

Day 13. Our journey takes us through Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland into Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and to the Plainfield, NJ area for the night.

Day 14. We travel though the New England States to Waterville, Maine for overnight.

NOVEMBER 16 – 23, 2012

PASSPORT REQUIRED FOR THIS TOUR

Day 1. We leave the Maritimes, stop at the Woodstock Duty Free store, stop in Houlton for lunch, travel through Maine, enjoy a buffet dinner and spend our first night on the road in our favorite hotel near the New Hampshire/Massachusetts border.

Day 2. Travelling through Connecticut into New York State, we arrive late afternoon in midtown Manhattan in the Big Apple, New York City for 4 nights. Our centrally located hotel is within walking distance of Times Square, Rockefeller Center, the Theatre District, shopping and restaurants.

Day 3. This morning we’ll have a local guide join us for the tour of the city seeing Ground Zero, Wall Street, Empire State Building, Battery Park, Central Park and Trump Tower. You’ll find out where the celebrities live as we travel through the city, past Strawberry Fields, a small garden dedicated to John Lennon, and see the different neighborhoods like Soho and Chinatown. Early afternoon, we’ll enjoy a brunch Southern style at BB Kings Blues Club and enjoy music of the Harlem Gospel Choir. This evening we’ll enjoy a Broadway play. (to be announced later)

Day 4. Enjoy a relaxing morning on your own. This afternoon we’ll enjoy the Christmas Spectacular at the Radio City Music Hall with the Rockettes followed by the not-to-be-forgotten ‘Living Nativity’. Early evening we’ll visit the Top of the Rock viewing area at the top of Rockefeller Center in elegant surroundings as you experience the amazing Target Breezeway, see the Crystal Wall, and the Chandelier in the Foyer. Later you might want to see the nearby St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Day 5. Enjoy a day to ‘do as you wish’, maybe get up early and be part of the audience at the Today Show. Take a walk or a carriage ride in Central Park. Tours are available at CBS and NBC Studios or visit the NBC Experience Store. Take a ride on the subway, visit Chinatown or some other neighborhood. In Times Square, call your family at home to turn on the computer, and stand in front of the Webcam camera and wave to them. Do some Bargain shopping with the Vendors along the street.

Day 6. We leave New York this morning to travel to the Boston area, have dinner at the Cracker Barrel restaurant with time to shop at the Old Country Store.

Day 7. We’ll visit the Christmas Tree Shop for bargains and unique items, on our way to Waterville, Maine for a farewell buffet group dinner.

Day 8. Homeward bound, lunch in Houlton, stop at the Duty Free store in Houlton, cross the border with many happy memories of our autumn tour to New York City.
